| THE DRAMA BEAST – ‘Arabian Night’s mask making workshop |

Below is a quote from the workshop organiser. TASA is acknowledged for aid with funding. Arts Volunteering attended the workshops. “Our Arabian Nights workshop was attended by over fifty children, from fourteen different schools within Alresford and the surrounding areas. We are so incredibly grateful for the funding The Alresford Arts Society was able to give us; these funds enabled children from low-income families who would not normally be able to attend our workshops have a magically creative and fun day. We were also able to expand our usual offering, focussing on creative puppet-making and enabling children to learn new craft to support dexterity and fine motor skills. The pictures I have attached show some of the artwork that the children created throughout the workshop - including giant wall hangings (backdrops for our mini production), character puppets for the children's own version of Arabian Nights, character face masks for Aladdin and Ali Baba and treasure chests that were found in our 'cave of wonder'!” Nicky Gower |

| Peter Pan & The Sunshine Singers |

“The Sunshine Singers are a group of Infant and Junior children who love singing and performing as a team. Each year the Sunshine Singers are invited to perform at various functions in the Alresford area the children really enjoy. As a chorus we were able to support a group of soloists in a Production of “Peter Pan” in June 2023 took part in a highly successful concert in St John's Church with the Alresford. It was a wonderful experience for the Sunshine Singers to be able to perform, looking great, in front of so many people & to have lots of fun singing and learning together. The Sunshine Singers are all about having fun, working as a team and developing a real love of singing which we hope will last forever.” Choir Leader- Rosie Waring-Green The Arts Volunteering volunteers worked in school, with the child choir members, to produce a printed ‘T’ shirt relevant to their role in the choir – from Peter Pan to Lost Children! The choir had fun with the printing blocks, silk screens and inks on white ‘T’ shirts all provided and demonstrated by The Arts Society Alresford. The Sunshine Singers looked so effective at the performance nights in the Church. The colourful shirts were appreciated by the audience, giving a wonderful experience for the choir in so many ways. |

| Sun Hill Junior School |

During 2022 we sponsored an art project for Sun Hill Junior School. The old large wall in the playground was badly in need of renovation, design and painting. Sun Hill School values 'STARS' Strive, Trust, Aspire, Resilience and Support was to provide the inspiration. Artist Jess Thorn was selected to work with the school and oversee the designs for the wall. Jess has just embarked on an Art Degree at Loughborough University. During art lessons, the pupils were introduced to the wall art of American artist / illustrator Mike Perry. Final designs by the children were selected by Jess and the staff. The final mural includes handprints from all the children with space for future cohorts. TASA funding covered all the materials with a small amount given to Jess for her hard work curating the project. The final result is a bright and welcoming feature to the school. |
